New Client Appointments

You may join the Healing Garden at any point in your cancer Journey: at diagnosis, during treatment, or years after being done with treatment. Any time is the right time. In order to individualize our care, an initial meeting is set up with our Director of Clinical Care. This meeting takes around one hour and includes a tour of our facility, filling out paperwork, and a discussion of your goals for care, which may include:

1) Integrative Therapies–massage, acupuncture, shiatsu, energy work, etc.–that will optimize your treatment and recovery.

2) Support Systems–support groups, counseling, spiritual direction, expressive arts, etc.–of need to you, your friends, and family.

3) Resources–nutrition, physical therapy, palliative care, literature, etc.

4) Affordability–eligibility for financial assistance for our programs, and help in applying to outside funds and grants.

We encourage new clients to try bodywork therapy following the meeting, which is priced on a sliding scale fee. A walk through the lower Virginia Thurston Garden is another recommended experience and can be facilitated with a self-guided map.
