How We Help
The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden provides high-quality, evidence-based therapies virtually or onsite at our Harvard, MA location. In these settings, without reminders of the disease and medical interventions, clients can manage their cancer experience feeling calmer and more relaxed.
Healing Garden clients receive extraordinarily supportive and compassionate care designed to address their own specific needs. New clients are scheduled for a one-to-one meeting with a Client Care Team Member to discuss the particulars of their experience with cancer, and together they will build a plan of care to address specified goals.
We offer:
- a community of others to share in your journey
- support groups
- mind-body medicine for symptom management, stress reduction, and restoration of wellness
- education about choices that contribute to health and healing, such as nutritional education, exercise, and mindfulness
- expressive therapies as an alternative to talk therapy for processing/releasing emotions
- programs and services to help you regain control of your life, both during and after medical treatments
Our care model offers clients, caregivers, and those bereaved from a cancer loss social support through a variety of programs and services, in-person and online. The Healing Garden’s team creates a community where clients find hope and resiliency while navigating the cancer experience. To help alleviate the financial toxicity that often occurs with a cancer diagnosis, we offer our programs and services at low to no cost to the client.

From its inception, the Healing Garden has uniquely recognized the difficult financial impact of a cancer diagnosis. We have a financial model that purposely provides free and low-cost care, with no fee to become a client of the Healing Garden. All of our providers embrace the spirit and philosophy of the Healing Garden and are committed to providing discounted therapeutic services.

We understand that anyone impacted by cancer may encounter circumstances that require cancellation.
