Dear Friends,

I have decided to take the challenge to walk/ride, in order to raise awareness and support for the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden. At the Healing Garden, men and women, caregivers, and family members receive the vitally important cancer support that they need to navigate a life overturned by cancer. Medical care treats the disease. The Healing Garden offers the compassionate care that is instrumental in addressing the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual distress most cancer patients experience. This care is integrated with medical care and helps to build resilience and improve quality of life.
Especially for those facing cancer, this pandemic is a scary and very lonely time. But as this pandemic carries on, so too has the Healing Garden. In early March, they converted their programs and services to virtual offerings for our clients while they isolate at home. Amazingly, the utilization of their services has TRIPLED since they went virtual! Though the way they provide services has changed, their need for funding has not.
