These arts-based sessions will investigate physical awareness, the writing act, and the intersection of body and writing, as methods of contemplation, inquiry, and connection. We will explore the body as both a jumping-off point for the writing process, as well as a place of refuge when the writing challenges us. The body offers themes that are both personal and universal. The body provides access to a broad knowledge set including sensory, intuitive, and stored experience. We will couple the writing act with contemplative/body-based/somatic practices to bridge experience with cognition, to promote dialogue, free-up expression, to give voice to buried or varied perspectives, and to forge meaning from the experience of living with cancer. Clients only. We encourage participants to commit to all 6 sessions. Free Program. This class will meet via Zoom until further notice.
