Oncology Rehabilitation: who, what, where when, and why?

Cancer and cancer treatments often cause physical and cognitive impairments that can negatively affect your ability to perform activities of daily living and return to work or recreational endeavors.
Oncology Rehabilitation is medical care that can and should be integrated throughout the cancer care continuum and delivered by trained rehabilitation professionals who have it in their scope of practice to diagnose and treat the physical and cognitive impairments that can result from cancer and cancer treatments with the goal of reducing symptom burden, maintain or restore function, maximize independence, and improve quality of life.
Therapists from Emerson Health’s Clough Family Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Therapies will review the various problems Oncology Rehab can help you manage or overcome, including fatigue, pain, weakness, forgetfulness, difficulty swallowing, swelling, altered balance, difficulty walking, neuropathies and more.
This program will meet on Zoom. Open to Healing Garden clients and caregivers.
