This 4-week Virtual curriculum is designed to help with the practical aspects of preparing healthy food at home. Join Nina Frusztajer, MD, MS for these interactive sessions designed for individual success.
Week One: Benefits of a Healthy Diet and Why Cooking at Home Matters
– creating a culinary vision
– building on strengths, fortifying weaknesses, and planning for action steps to get closer to the vision
– one or 2 recipes to make in the upcoming week
– a recipe will be prepared during the zoom
Week Two: Setting Your Environment Up for Success
– meal planning to create a realistic repertoire of meals with easy “go to” options
– setting up a routine for shopping, prepping, and timing of meals
– stocking the home with staples
– one or 2 recipes to make in the upcoming week
– a recipe will be prepared during the zoom
Week Three: Reflection on What’s Working and What Isn’t
– time-saving techniques (e.g. batch cooking, creative use of leftovers, etc.)
– the connection between diet and health issues: food quality, type of food, timing of eating, portions
– one or 2 recipes to make in the upcoming week
– a recipe will be prepared during the zoom
Week Four: Making Healthy Cooking and Eating a Sustainable Lifestyle
– re-visit your culinary vision and re-commit or adjust
– what did you learn?
– how do you feel?
– what do you need going forward?
– suggested simple breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes will be offered
Registration is required. Free virtual program with optional donation. We encourage you to attend all 4 sessions. Open to clients and caregivers.
Dr. Frusztajer is a physician with a master’s in nutrition and is also a life coach, author, and yoga instructor. She has decades of experience helping people address and optimize their nutrition concerns such as making healthy eating easy and effective, supporting physical and mental health issues, and achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Her work in the field has included the effect of diet on brain chemistry and function, time management and efficiency, and addressing emotional factors that can contribute to nutrition such as self-compassion and vulnerability.
