Anyone who can make sound can hum; and this is what makes a daily humming practice so simple and accessible. Surprisingly, humming has been shown to have a host of positive effects in the body. From stress reduction and sleep aide, to increased calm and healing support, conscious humming packs a lot of power! Join facilitator, Renée LaFountain, for a 1-hour virtual workshop where you will learn:
- Learn the basics of conscious humming
- Join in a group practice of conscious humming
- Gain knowledge about the positive impacts humming has on the body
- Leave with a simple practice to use every day!
This free program is open to Healing Garden clients, caregivers, and bereaved members. Pre-registration is required. Optional donations are accepted at registration.
Renée LaFountain is a licensed mental health clinician (LMHC) with a passion for helping people to access their innate healing capacity through a mind/body/spirit approach. Using mind/body techniques, such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT – tapping), mindfulness, guided imagery, and meditation, alongside traditional talk therapy, she assists clients in using their strengths to increase wellness and to feel more empowered in their lives. Renée provides a safe space that enables clients to express themselves authentically, understand themselves more fully, and heal more deeply.
Currently, Renée works in a group private practice – Blue Square Counseling & Wellness – splitting her time between work with clients and providing onboarding support to her colleagues. In her free time, Renée enjoys spending time in nature, drumming, reading, and snuggling with her cat, Bagheera.
This program is supported in part by generous funding from the Clinton, Hudson and Lincoln Cultural Councils, local agencies that are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
