Let’s Talk about your Cancer Questions!

Our Blog:

The Healing Garden is creating a place for you to ask your cancer questions, look for information or just plain TALK. This space provides support and connection outside these walls. We know that there are times when you are not able to come to your support group or need to be home recuperating. Now, you can stay connected, explore ideas and exchange information.

This blog is a starting point where we can see what topics people want to discuss.

Thank you , Marcia, for this valuable outreach.

I would like to discuss continuation versus discontinuation of prescribed medicines due to their serious side effects.

    Linda,
There is a balance as to whether a medication has more essential benefits than drawbacks. Discuss this with your team and make sure that you understand what you gain and lose by discontinuing a medication. In addition, look at all your medications together to assess how the medications work or don’t work together. Make sure that you consult your palliative care team to see if they have any ideas of how to help with the side effects so you can chose to continue without the loss of all quality of life.

The support groups are a good place to talk about this as well as with your medical team. Let’s start a discussion.

    Hi Margaret
I have been recently diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer. I would love to join the secret group to see how other people are dealing with their devastating diagnosis.
    Thanks so much.
    Nalini
