Some experiences are hard to put into words, particularly the cancer experience. Smartphone photography is a simple and accessible form of visual artmaking, which can foster personal expression, growth, connection, and healing. Constructing photographs can put us in closer contact with nature, others, and ourselves, while crafting and editing photos can connect us to creativity and mindfulness. Reflecting on our finished works together may validate or expand our perspectives and possibilities. You don’t need any fancy equipment; just the use of your smartphone’s camera and the curiosity to get the most out of it.
