Bring your projects, yarn and needles, and enjoy the beautiful meeting space at the Healing Garden!
We’ll knit, chat, share tips and techniques, and most importantly, relax with this wonderful, meditative craft that rewards you twice – in the doing, and in the finished product. Note this is a social group, not a formal class, but Kelsey can help with beginner to intermediate level projects if you get stuck. No major knitting experience is required! If you know how to cast on, knit, and purl, you’re good to go.
Meets 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00-2:30 pm IN PERSON in the Garden Room. Open to client, caregivers and bereaved members. Free program with optional donations accepted.
Kelsey Thompson learned to knit from her mother and grandmother, both prolific knitters, and has been knitting countless shawls, sweaters, hats, scarves, cowls, socks, and mitts ever since. She is delighted to have the opportunity to share her hobby/passion with other knitters and is looking forward to learning together and supporting each other in our knitting journeys. Kelsey is also a client of the Healing Garden, having been diagnosed with DCIS earlier in 2024. When she isn’t knitting, she enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking with her husband, singing in a couple of choruses, and volunteer work with Sudbury Valley Trustees and Carmah Cat Rescue.
