Learn about and experience the many ways nature and creativity can support our healing, health, and well-being as we do creative work together. During our virtual sessions, we’ll do a series of creative projects using simple materials we have at home. Our focus will be on the creative process and deriving inspiration from nature and each other to nurture our own resilience and creative spirits.
- No prior nature or creative experience is needed. Come as you are. We’ll play and explore how we can create a sense of place where we live and with our imaginations.
- Supplies will be what we have in our homes already. A set of colored markers or pencils or paints is a nice edition but not necessary. Some type of glue stick may also be used. Think of it as foraging in your home for materials. We’ll even recycle some things.
Led by Nadine Mazzola, Certified Forest Therapy Guide & Artist.

About the Facilitator: Nadine came to the Healing Garden in 2014 as she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. She feels deeply that participating in the many offerings the Healing Garden makes available to its clients, was instrumental in her recovery from treatment and finding her new normal. Through her experiences at the Healing Garden, she was also inspired to pursue the expressive arts and nature and forest therapy work she does today.
This program is supported in part by generous funding from the Acton-Boxborough, Ayer, Clinton, Harvard, Littleton, Stow, and Westford Cultural Councils, local agencies that are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
