Have you ever experienced being so immersed in a creative activity that you’ve lost track of time?
This happens because creative activities such as art-making, crafting, and gardening ease us into a state of mindfulness by enhancing our capacity for focus, concentration, inner peace, and calm. Regularly spending time in a mindful state has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, help us sleep better, and promote a general sense of wellbeing. Alas, despite our best intentions, many of us struggle to prioritize time for our own self-care.
This workshop series defines Creative Mindfulness as – Moment by moment mindfulness while creating, which allows us to enjoy the process rather than focusing on the end results. We create more freely and more joyfully. We are curious, non-judging, trusting in the process, patient, and without expectations.
During this 7-week workshop, we’ll use watercolors, doodling, and other techniques to relax and explore as we create a personal Creative Mindfulness Journal. Some experience with watercolors is recommended; we’ll be using basic watercolor techniques such as wet on wet and wet on dry washes. A free watercolor basics tutorial video is available from the facilitator.
* Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions as many of the activities build upon each other throughout the workshop.
The class will meet via Zoom. Wednesdays, 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Clients Only.
In addition to the materials provided by The Healing Garden, participants will need to supply the following:
• Watercolor paint palette and assorted watercolor brushes – For the best workshop experience, good quality or professional grade watercolor paint is recommended. Some professional-grade paint palettes are available to borrow from The Healing Garden for this workshop. Please contact Kelly to reserve one to pick up with your kit.

• Pencil, ruler, sharp comfortable scissors
• Plastic kitchen wrap and coarse sea salt
